LILAS4SOILS recently participated in the European Mission Soil Week 2024, held on 12-13 November in Brussels. The event, organized by the European Commission and key EU research bodies, brought together stakeholders from across Europe to discuss sustainable soil management and the EU’s Mission Soil initiative.
At the event, LILAS4SOILS showcased its network of five Living Labs—test sites for scaling carbon farming practices across Mediterranean and Southern Europe. The team also took part in the panel discussion “Enablers and Challenges for the Sustainable Deployment of Innovative Solutions from Living Labs,” where they shared insights on the role of carbon farming in restoring soil health and its potential for climate change mitigation.
LILAS4SOILS’ participation in European Mission Soil Week reinforced its commitment to advancing sustainable soil management and regenerative agriculture, contributing to the EU’s broader goal of restoring and protecting Europe’s soils.
